Traditional Chinese medicine theory has a set of acupoint combinations called "Opening the Four Passes," which refers to the two pairs of acupoints Hegu and Taichong. Together, these two acupoints form the "Four Passes Acupoints," specifically targeting qi stagnation constitution. They can help relieve stress and physical and mental tension, as well as alleviate symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and swollen or painful eyes.


Hegu Point

Located on the back of the hand, between the thumb and index finger, at the midpoint of the metacarpal bone of the index finger.

Simple acupoint locating method: Place the transverse crease of the thumb's interphalangeal joint of one hand on the web margin between the thumb and index finger of the other hand; the point just below the tip of the thumb is the Hegu acupoint.

Located on the dorsum of the foot, in the depression before the junction of the first and second metatarsal bones.
